TRADITIONAL CHINESE VETERINARY MEDICINE – Internship, Teaching, Lecturing
Following graduation, she was in private practice in Northern California before completing a one year internship in large and small animal acupuncture at the University of Florida under the supervision of Dr. Huisheng Xie. Dr. Yamate has been a faculty member of Chi University* and the Chi Institute of Europe, teaching veterinary acupuncture, Chinese herbology, Tui-na and Chinese food therapy. She lectures internationally on CAVM and Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine for veterinary medical schools, conferences and clubs as well as for general public events. CERTIFICATIONS AND HONORS
Recognized as a Charter Fellow of the American College of Veterinary Botanical Medicine
Dr. Yamate is among 15 veterinarians in the United States who have demonstrated excellence, proficiency and competence to earn recognition as a Charter Fellow.
The American College of Veterinary Botanical Medicine was established in 2014 in order to increase the proficiency and competence of veterinarians in the use of medicinal plants, ultimately leading to diplomate status in the specialty of veterinary botanical medicine

Dr. Yamate is certified by Chi University and the China National Society of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine:

Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy (Chiropractic)
Dr. Yamate is certified in Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy (VSMT) having completed a 226 hours post graduate program at Healing Oasis Wellness Center, a nationally accredited educational institution.
FURTHERING INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE
- Dr. Yamate is the current president of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Foundation (AHVMF), a 501(c)(3) which funds investigations to advance animal health through integrative holistic veterinary medicine.
- She has served multiple terms as treasurer of both the AHVMF and the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association.

- Dr. Yamate is a contributing author to the text “Practical Guide to TCVM, Vol 2: Small Animal Practice”.
